Mirror leads way as Sunday tabloids enjoy August circulation rise
The Sunday Mirror was the best-
performing title in the Sunday
market in August, increasing
circulation by nearly 2% month-
on-month.
Trinity Mirror's red-top averaged
1,063,293 sales a week, up 1.72%
on July, in a month when most of
the Sunday tabloids enjoyed small
circulation increases.
Another Trinity Mirror title, the
Sunday People, increased its
circulation 1.47% to 425,293,
while others on the rise were the
Daily Star Sunday (up 1.31% to
346,205) and Mail on Sunday (up
1.05% to 1,675,474).
The Sun on Sunday was down
0.56% month-on-month to
1,916,570 and the Sunday Express
dipped 0.54% to 473,286.
All four Sunday quality titles
reported circulation declines in
August: the Independent on Sunday
(down 3.6% to 110,157), Sunday
Times (down 2.17% to 826,462),
Observer (down 1.58% to 216,839)
and Sunday Telegraph (down
0.32% to 435,323).
